Highlights:
This is one of the recommended private tours of Cascais, for guests who wish a short introduction to the village, walking, and do not require transportation. Within 3h duration, we will visit the historical village of Cascais, and learn about its famous history over the centuries, passing by the beachfront area, the town hall, the old citadel/fortress, the Palace/Museum of Conde Castro Guimaraes, and much more, with the assistance of our private guide (English Speaking). Not recommended for disabled or customers with difficulties walking, as there will be no assistance by car and steep walking will be required for approx 3h.
This tour should be done with no transportation (only walking – mostly flat surface – no steps).

Itinerary
The Cascais Private Walking Tour (3h), will show you some of the major sights in the medieval and fisherman village of Cascais for around 3h duration. This tour can be provided in the morning period (10AM), or afternoon period (2PM). Although the itinerary can be adjusted during the day, this is the standard itinerary:
- Start the tour at 10AM or 2PM – meeting point at Cascais Train Station (Reservation is required).
- Explore the beachfront area of Cascais and learn about the history and importance of Cascais/Estoril during Second World War.
- Cross the center of the village and stop at the Navy Mess Palace (Seixas) for photos. Admire the beautiful views overlooking the the Citadel of Cascais (Fortress).
- Stop at the Bay and at the Town Hall of Cascais (Mayor’s Office).
- Head to the Citadel of Cascais and get inside the fortress for photos, hosting today the former palace and the Pousada of Cascais.
- Head to Palace/Museum Conde Castro Guimaraes and visit inside (Admission 6EUR – Closed on Mondays).
- Pass by Casa de Santa Maria, one of the most famous mansions of Cascais, nearby the Marina.
- Admire the views of it’s lighthouse.
- Here, learn the history of Christopher Columbus, the place where he stoped for the first time, after discovering America.
- See the place where once existed the mansion of the last Italian King, living in exile in Cascais, King Humberto II of Italy.
- Explore the old town of Cascais, passing by the former old medieval castle walls, destroyed by the earthquake.
- End the tour between around 1PM for the morning period tour, or 5PM for the afternoon period.
